The purpose of Congregational Care is to equip and establish a thriving Christ-centered presence in the 30+ towns represented at Valley Bible Church. With such a broad geographical reach, we have identified seven regions that seek to provide community and care for the attendees residing within those regions. Currently, we have a group of ten Deacons who assist the director to help facilitate care for the body of Christ. Our aim is to encourage participation in life groups and to help individuals use their gifts to benefit the community of Valley Bible for the glory of God.
Congregational care takes place during our Sunday Worship Celebration as well. We have a Welcome Team that helps with greeting, ushering and staffing the Connection Center. There is also a Hospitality Team that helps organize large times of fellowship.
My wife Kecia and I have been married since 1994, and we have been blessed to have two teenage sons, Crandell and Carson. We moved here from Voorheesville, NY in early 2010 and love the people of Connecticut and Valley Bible Church. One thing makes life interesting in our household is a 50/50 blend of Red Sox and Yankee Fans. That’s right…proof that Jesus can overcome anything.
On a more serious note, I am convinced that God intends his greatest work of transformation to take place in the context of doing life together in community. That is why I am passionate about people coming together for worship, sharing times of celebration together as well as growing deeper and stronger in life groups that exist where they live.
How can I get involved?
There are various ways to get involved in Congregational Care Ministry:
- Join a Life Group
- Be part of the Welcome team
- Be part of the Hospitality Team
- Help us serve our regional communities
